At Sandy Creek Safaris, we specialize in providing an exclusive and private hunting experience. Our guests can choose from two luxurious chalets, each featuring two spacious and elegantly appointed double rooms.
Every Chalet offers its own private swimming pool, a traditional boma and barbecue area, as well as an outdoor shower where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the South African bush under the open sky. The hunt for trophy animals takes place between April and October. In some cases, hunts can also be arranged outside this period.
Our offer is also aimed at non-hunters and families, for whom we have put together a variety of interesting photo tours and other exciting activities.

FAQ
Do I need a hunting license or special permits?
In general, you don’t need a hunting license to hunt with us. However, we require that you have safe firearm handling skills and a responsible, ethical understanding of hunting. Only certain game species require a permit, which we will of course arrange for you in advance.
Which animals am I allowed to hunt?
Sandy Creek is home up to 40 different game species that you can hunt in our reserves. If a species you’re interested in is not listed in the price list, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll gladly do our best to accommodate any special requests.
What does a typical hunting day with you look like?
A typical hunting day starts early in the morning at 5:00 AM when the game becomes active. Depending on the species being hunted, hunters return to the lodge for breakfast between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. During midday, the game is less active, so hunting resumes around 2:00 PM. Exceptions are buffalo and mountain hunts, where hunters take provisions for the entire day. Evenings usually feature traditional South African braais (barbecues), where stories from the day’s hunt are shared.
What is the typical shooting distance?
A typical shooting distance in our reserves ranges from 50 to 200 meters, depending on the game and the terrain. Experienced shooters can borrow long-range rifles (338 Lapua Magnum) and practice their perfect shot on our 800-meter shooting range. With enough experience, shots over 200 meters are also possible here.
Is the hunted game fully utilized?
The hunted game, except for the trophy, is fully utilized by us. The meat is traditionally made into our Braai-Woors, Biltong, or Dry-Woors, which every guest is guaranteed to try during their stay. Backstrap and fillet are served to guests in the evening at the braai. Other parts benefit the local community.
How do I get my trophies home?
On the last day of the hunt, the taxidermist visits the lodge to discuss your desired trophy processing. Whether you want full-body mounts or skulls, the taxidermist will present and discuss various options with you. They will also explain the transport and export process in detail, which we handle entirely for you. After 6 to 14 months, your trophy will be delivered right to your doorstep, unless other arrangements are made with the taxidermist.
